Nike announced the global expansion of the Nike Live concept with the launch of two new stores in Tokyo and Long Beach. The stores officially opened to NikePlus members on November 1.
Following the success of the first Nike Live test-pilot, Nike by Melrose, a reinvention of the retail game: the merging of data and customer service, the Nike Live storefronts implement key information gathered from more than 80 tests conducted over nearly 18 months at the pilot store.
The new stores in Long Beach and Shibuya, Tokyo will cater to the local communities, fueled by the analysis of the online buying patterns, app usage and engagement of customers in the local neighborhoods.
“Nike Live is the result of a singular vision: to design the most locally-relevant experience out there leveraging digital with personal service. The success of our Melrose pilot has us so excited to expand this groundbreaking concept to new communities, with stores that offer our members convenience and the joy of sport in spaces built just for them,” said Cathy Sparks, VP/GM, Global Nike Direct Stores & Service.
