Gearlab Outdoors has added new sales representation in Canada, expanding its global footprint in the paddle and watersports markets.
Stepping into the Canadian sales role is Michael Gilbert who is the founder of B.C. Kayak Centre and life-long kayaking instructor and enthusiast.
Mike is certified as a Day Guide and trained as an Overnight Guide with SKGABC (Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC). He has his Paddle Canada certifications at Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 Skills. He is also a PaddleSmart Presenter Trainer, a rescue diver with PADI, and a Registered Examiner for VHF Marine Radio.
When Mike is not selling, diving or saving others he actively instructs certification courses, clinics and classes for sea kayakers, guiding multi-day overnight sea kayak adventures in Canada and elsewhere travelling internationally (whenever Covid-19 is not around) in the middle of juggling postponed courses for this summer.
“My primary focus is to ensure Gearlab becomes the “go-to” household brand for top-of-the-line, high-performance Greenland style paddles in Canada,” said Gilbert. “I initially heard about Gearlab through friends who also offered me a chance to use their paddles and I was instantly sold on the paddles and the brand. Then I became an outdoors tester, helping out with product development. I’m thrilled to represent Gearlab in the Canadian territories and am excited to see where this new relationship takes us,” Mike Gilbert.
Gearlab currently has sales reps stationed across the globe including in U.S., Europe, Taiwan, Australia, and New Zealand.
