Gear Co-op, the climbing shop located in Costa Mesa, CA that operates gearcoop.com, hired outdoor industry veteran Todd Klasky as its vice president of merchandising. He will be responsible for heading up the strategy, development, and execution of apparel and hardgoods selection for the quickly growing e-tailer, as well as maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with all the brands they carry.
As the newest high-level GearCooper, Klasky-better known as TK-brings over 15 years of retail and wholesale buying, visual merchandising, and pricing experience to the company, along with knowledge of manufacturing brand management, product and packaging development, and factory sourcing.
I am extremely excited to join the elite team of young professionals at Gear Co-op, commented TK. Their rapid expansion and aggressive growth plans in the Outdoor segments are what attracted me most to this opportunity.
TK comes to Gear Co-op from Sport Chalet as a Senior Buyer/Divisional Merchandising Manager. He specifically oversaw the Outdoors division, which included snow and water sports, camping, fishing, and mountain sports-all sports for which Gear Co-op carries an extensive range of merchandise. Along with Sport Chalet, TK has been the Hang Ten brand manager and hardgoods product developer at D6 Sports, as well as a lead buyer and visual merchandising supervisor for over 500 Leslies Pool Supply stores.
TK brings a wealth of buying and management experience to Gear Co-op, and his key brand relationships will be a driving factor in the growth of our company, remarked Terry Lee, founder and CEO of Gear Co-op. I look forward to combining our collective experience in the outdoor channel to bring a fresh, unique, technologically advanced approach to both our brands and our customers.
Established in 2009 in Costa Mesa, California, Gear Co-op prides itself on its extensive variety of climbing gear, with over 100 models of climbing shoes plus harnesses, carabiners, and sport and trad gear always in stock.
