Global Brand Marketing, Inc., owner of Pony International and Dry-shoD, and global footwear licensee for Diesel, XOXO, Nautica and Mecca, today has established GBMI Italia S.r.l ., a new subsidiary for its European operations based near Venice, Italy. GBMI Italia S.r.l. will oversee all European product development, sourcing, and quality control. In addition, GBMI has named Ivano Schiavon to Vice President, European Operations to head up this entity.
“Our need to have a European base to develop new and innovative materials and finished products out of Europe for our vastly growing portfolio of brands has become ever prevalent,” said Killick Datta, Chief Executive Officer of Global Brand Marketing, Inc. “This office will also serve as our eyes and ears of the fashion directions in Europe.”
Schiavon joins GBMI with over 20 years of international experience in franchising and product management. Previously, Schiavon was the Trading and International Franchising Manager for Bata Italy and held several senior positions within the Bata organization throughout his tenure. Prior to that, Schiavon has held senior positions at Usines Hellocourt and Soimpro S.A.
