Gander Outdoors, formerly known as Gander Mountain, will open locations in Onalaska, WI and Portage, MI.
The Onalaska store will open February 21 and the grand opening event will celebrate on Saturday, February 24. The location is at 1200 Crossing Meadows Drive, and the 57,000 square-foot building will operate with over 55 part-time employees and full-time staff. The Onalaska store is one of eleven Gander Outdoors locations planned in the state of Wisconsin.
The Saturday grand opening celebration will commence when the doors open at 9:00 a.m. Activities include free pastries and coffee in the morning, kids can paint a lure 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and build-a-duck call from 1-3 p.m. Plus, customers will receive a gift with purchase and drawings for Gander Outdoors gift cards throughout the day, while supplies last.
The Portage location is open already, with the grand opening also set for Saturday, February 2. The location is at 5348 South Westnedge Avenue and the 31,000 square-foot building will operate with over 55 part-time employees and full-time staff. The Portage store is one of eight Gander Outdoors locations planned in the state of Michigan.

Camping World bought Gander Mountain assets in bankruptcy court in May 2017 and is beginning to reopen many of the chain’s stores.
