Galyan’s Trading Company, Inc. announced today they would build a 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in Plainfield, IN in close proximity to their distribution center.

At a groundbreaking ceremony on May 23, 2003, Robert B. Mang, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Company, commented, “We have grown from a small Indianapolis company to a large national chain in a very short time. Our current corporate facility can no longer accommodate us.”

“This new facility will be a state-of-the-art campus that matches the excitement and experiential nature of our stores. It will allow us the expansion we must have to keep on our current growth trajectory,” Mang adds.

The Town of Plainfield, a suburb of Indianapolis, created a TIF district to retain the Galyan’s headquarters. $7 million from the TIF bonds will be used to support the cost of the new building. Plainfield, where Galyan’s first began, benefits from its close proximity to Indianapolis, a major distribution hub with easy access to key Midwestern cities and coast to coast highways.
