Galyan’s appointed Edwin J. Holman as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Mr. Holman will be responsible for Finance, Operations, Systems, Planning and Allocation, Stores and Culture. Real Estate, Legal, Store Planning and Construction, Merchandising and Marketing will continue to report to Robert B. Mang, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Company.
Mr. Holman was most recently President and Chief Operating Officer of Bloomingdale’s, a division of Federated Department Stores, a position he held for the past three years. Prior to that he was President and Chief Operating Officer at Richs-Lazarus-Goldsmiths, another division of Federated Department Stores. Before that he held executive positions with Petrie Retail, Inc., Woodward & Lothrop, Carter Hawley Hale, Neiman Marcus and Macy’s Midwest.
Mr. Mang stated: “We are extremely fortunate to attract an executive of Ed’s caliber to Galyan’s. His background and portfolio of experience is an ideal fit with Galyan’s and his appointment significantly strengthens our management team.
