Galvin Green has appointed Tom Romano as its new general manager in North America and Lou Delfino as director of sales to accelerate its growth plans in the U.S.

Romano, who joined the Swedish apparel brand as a customer service representative in 2015, succeeds the outgoing Steve Hendren and will manage the Galvin Green North American operation from his current base in New York City.

Over the past three years, the brand has seen a “30 percent growth across the U.S. and Canadian market, while increasing its profile by sponsoring PGA Tour stars such as Lanto Griffin, Troy Merritt, Martin Laird and JJ Spaun,” the company.

“It’s an honor to assume the role of General Manager of Galvin Green in North America, and I can’t wait to use my knowledge of the brand to help accelerate growth further,” said Romano. “The new GameDay range features incredibly advanced and tour-proven technologies that I am certain will be popular with existing customers and potential new accounts,” he added.

During his time with Galvin Green, Romano has worked across its Customer Service, Sales and Marketing departments, after he graduated from Trinity College, Hartford. In his most recent role as sales operations manager, he managed and expanded the sales team from 8 to 12 reps and “quadrupled the strategic account business between 2017 and 2019.”

Lou Delfino, based in Milton, GA, has more than 23 years of golf industry experience and several awards to his name. Previously, he worked for Nike USA as a national account manager, Chase 54 Golf Apparel as vice president of sales and athleisure golf apparel brand, Devereux, as director of sales. After increasing on and off-course sales at Nike by “over 400 percent” and managing golf apparel sales across the Southeastern states, he was recognized as Regional and National Salesperson of the Year and as a Top 25 Salesperson by Golf Digest.

“There’s great potential for Galvin Green in this market, and I am excited to be part of the future journey,” said Delfino. “The brand has built up a stellar reputation for its top-quality waterproof garments, but I am most looking forward to driving sales of the versatile Interface-1, Insula and Ventil8 lines that have been designed to deliver the perfect balance of comfort and performance when layered together,” he added.

Commenting on the new appointments, Nicholai Stein, CEO, Galvin Green, said: “We are delighted to have promoted Tom to general manager given his outstanding work since joining us six years ago and to welcome Lou, who will head up our sales team with the aim of increasing revenue across new and existing accounts throughout North America.

“Both Tom and Lou have impressive track records and share our ‘We Never Compromise’ attitude towards doing business and looking after our retail customers,” he added.
