Backcountry ski and snowboard equipment manufacturer G3 Genuine Guide Gear Inc. hired ski- and outdoor-industry veteran Chris Clark as its sales director.

Clark comes to G3 from Outdoor Research, where he served as director of sales for North America. Over the last 22 years, Clark has cultivated experience in sales, product development, and marketing with numerous brands including Scarpa, Backcountry Access, Cascade Designs and Black Diamond. He also brings retail and editorial knowledge to the mix, having worked in the 1990s as a ski technician and shop manager at Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder, Colo., as well as having worked as technical editor for Backcountry Magazine.

“The passion that Chris has for skiing and his range of experience within the ski world make him a tremendous asset to G3,” said Oliver Steffen, founder and president. “It’s hard to imagine someone for this role who has the range of experience across different aspects of the industry that Chris does, much less the focus he has had within backcountry skiing specifically. We’re proud to welcome him to the team.”

“I’ve long been impressed by G3’s overall commitment to the sport of backcountry skiing, and by the innovative products that it has been bringing to market in recent years,” Clark said. “I see lots of blue sky for the G3 brand moving forward, and I’m excited to help bring that to life.”

Based in Vancouver, B.C., G3 manufactures skis, splitboards, alpine touring and telemark ski bindings, poles, climbing skins, avalanche shovels, probes and other ski accessories.
