Mitsui & Company, a Japanese company with $29 billion in annual revenues, made a strategic investment in Full90 Sports, which manufactures head protection for soccer. As part of the deal, Mitsui will serve as a manufacturer and exclusive master distributor for Asia, including China, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.
Mitsui is involved, to some extent, in nearly every industry from sporting goods to natural resource development to biotechnology but says that its “traditional core competence” is in export, import, offshore trading, and domestic businesses.
