Fred Segal, a luxury boutique in Los Angeles, CA, closed its last two stores and shut down its website.

The stores were in West Hollywood and Malibu. The brand once had nine locations in California.

Founded in 1961, the clothing and accessories retailer’s central location was Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.

“Fred Segal is closing stores due to challenges in the retail industry and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” owner Jeff Lotman said in a media statement. “The shift to online shopping, economic uncertainties and decreased foot traffic have made it difficult to maintain physical store operations.”

Fred Segal Home, the brand’s luxury furniture store, will remain open in Culver City, CA, and the fredsegalhome.com website will continue.
