Fox Head Inc., a family owned maker of apparel for motocross and action
sports enthusiasts, has  hired R.W. Baird
& Co. to shop the company, according to a report by TheStreet.com

Although family-owned, Fox Head is being led by Nick Adcock, a board member
who was appointed CEO following Pete Fox’s resignation from the position in
February. Adcock has an extensive background with action sports and other
brands, including a five year stint as global president of CD Shoes.

Company founder Geoff Fox remains on the company’s board of directors. He
founded the company in 1974 to make protection gear and apparel for motocross
riders. Fox Head has since diversified into making gear for mountain biking,
BMX, surf and wakeboarding. Fox Head is based in Irvine, CA.

Geoff Fox’s brother Bob Fox founded what is now called Fox Factory Inc., a
maker of high performance suspension systems for mountain bikes, motocross and
other off-road vehicles which went public earlier this year.
