Fossil Group Inc. appointed Joe Martin, formerly SVP of wholesale, team services and omni operations and marketplace, North America, at Adidas, and Antonio Carriero, previously chief digital and information officer at Salomon, to its executive team.
The appointments follow the hiring last September of Franco Fogliato, formerly president and CEO of Salomon, which anchors the Outdoor Performance segment of Amer Sports, Inc., as CEO.
Martin joins the watch and accessories maker as chief commercial officer. At Adidas, Martin “drove a significant turnaround globally and in North America,” according to Fossil’s press release. Prior to that, he held sales leadership roles at various companies, including 3M.
“I am thrilled to join an iconic global brand like Fossil,” said Martin. “I look forward to serving our people, our business, and building long-term value for our stakeholders across the globe.”
As chief digital information officer and general manager EMEA, Carrier will be responsible for overseeing the company’s global technology strategy, operations, cybersecurity, and the development of future capabilities. In addition to his global technology leadership, Carriero will lead the commercial business for the company’s EMEA region.
At Salomon, he enhanced the outdoor brand’s IT and digital capabilities, with a strong focus on driving e-commerce revenue. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles in digital and technology at Breitling SA and Richemont Group.
“Having dedicated much of my career to the watch and jewelry industries, I am excited to join Fossil as Chief Digital Officer and General Manager EMEA,” said Carriero. “I have a deep connection to this industry and its rich legacy, and I look forward to collaborating with talented teams to accelerate growth, drive meaningful impact, and shape the next chapter of our journey together.”
“The expertise and proven record of sustainable, long-term results that both Joe and Antonio bring to the company make them ideally suited to advance our turnaround strategy as we focus on building a stronger, more innovative watch business that creates long-term value for all our stakeholders,” said Fogliato.
