Fleet Feet, the U.S. franchisor of locally-owned run specialty stores, announced the opening of a new store today, January 10, in Burlington, NC. It is the third Fleet Feet store owned by John and Elizabeth Dewey, who operate Fleet Feet stores in Greensboro and High Point, NC, respectively.

Before opening Fleet Feet Greensboro in 2003 and Fleet Feet High Point in 2012, John Dewey worked as a certified athletic trainer and licensed physical therapist, with credentials he still holds and skills he uses in-store.

“Our mission is to help every customer find the right footwear to meet their unique needs, no matter their goal,” said Dewey. “At Fleet Feet, we’re not just about selling shoes—we’re here to support our community’s health and help people move in comfort.”

The Burlington store features performance footwear, apparel and accessories from top trending brands, including Brooks, Hoka, Vuori, and Lululemon. The store also has on the selling floor Fleet Feet’s fit ID machine—a 3D foot scanning and dynamic pressure mapping device, which can assess a customer’s foot shape and gait to identify the right shoe to meet their needs.

Fleet Feet Burlington is located near running paths and parks. The Dewey’s plan for the store to become a meeting place for local fun runs and community events.

“John and Liz have become pillars in their communities,” said John Moloznik, vice president of business development at Fleet Feet. “Their success in Greensboro and High Point—built on consistent growth, customer loyalty and an inclusive culture—makes them the perfect partners for this expansion. We’re confident that their continued success will be a tremendous asset to the Fleet Feet brand.”

The store will also host a ribbon-cutting event on January 13.
