Fleet Feet, the largest franchisor of run specialty stores in the U.S., in business for over 40 years, reports that franchisees Hugo and Sandra Gutierrez have opened a new Fleet Feet store in Brownsville, TX, expanding beyond their Fleet Feet store in McAllen, TX.
The new store is in the Morrison Crossing Shopping Center.
Hugo Gutierrez, a U.S. Navy veteran and passionate runner, and his wife, Sandra, opened Fleet Feet McAllen in February 2022, with their children, Diego and Nadia. Fleet Feet reported in a media release that “the Gutierrez family has built a thriving business, with more than 60 runners participating in the store’s popular weekly group runs.” After seeing the McAllen store’s success and understanding the growing demand in the Brownsville area, “the Gutierrez family decided it was time to expand,” continued Fleet Feet.
Fleet Feet Brownsville is a local running and fitness community hub offering various programs and events. Training programs will not be immediately available.
“We’re excited to continue growing the Fleet Feet brand in South Texas,” said John Moloznik, vice president of retail development at Fleet Feet, Inc. “Brownsville is an ideal location, with its thriving community and proximity to SpaceX, as well as the established running culture in the area. We’re excited to add our store to the mix and to be a part of Brownsville’s fitness and wellness journey.”
