During ISPO Munich, Brooks Running Company, HP, Superfeet, Rsscan, DESMA and Huntsman collected ISPO’s top award: ‘Product of the Year,’ issued within the category of Health & Fitness for the teams’ combined effort to bring individualized performance footwear to the market using FitStation powered by HP.

With the annual ISPO Award, an independent jury awards prizes for the best sports products for the coming season in a variety of categories including Health & Fitness, Outdoor, Snowsports, Urban and Team & Social Sports. The judging panel of 42 independent industry experts reviewed approximately 500 entries before announcing Fitstation as the winner. Urs Weber, judging panel member and editor-in-chief of Runner’s World Germany, commented that “the concept of custom-made shoes presented by Brooks is trend-setting and offers the athlete an entirely new product quality.”

In December, Brooks announced it was partnering with HP and Superfeet to bring the most personalized running experience to market. Leveraging FitStation, powered by HP and Brooks Run Signature, Brooks will introduce the first performance running shoe, created based on an individual’s biomechanics and available via special order through select retail partners.

“We are thrilled to work with industry leaders HP and Superfeet to bring personalized running shoes to market and are honored to be chosen for such a prestigious award,” said Patrick Pons de Vier, Brooks SVP of global footwear. “FitStation, powered by HP, is a tip-of-the-spear technology which will enable Brooks to provide runners with the best and most comprehensive solution for a personalized running experience. This is the first step in our journey to create the shoe for you”

“Two years ago we started this project to create truly individualized footwear and change what personalization means for the customer. Being recognized as product of the year at ISPO is an incredible achievement and recognition as we continue to revolutionize how footwear is made, from concept to production,” said Ed Ponomarev, general manager of FitStation and business development HP Inc.

“With FitStation we are transforming footwear manufacturing from one-size-fits-all solutions to bespoke products built to each person’s unique biomechanics and fit” said Eric Hayes, Chief Marketing Officer at Superfeet. “To win the ISPO award is a privilege, and just the beginning of how FitStation will disrupt the way consumers choose footwear.”
