FBI background checks for firearms, as adjusted by the NSSF, were up 3.5 percent in June to 924,054 compared to the June 2018 NSSF-adjusted NICS figure of 892,479.
For comparison, the unadjusted June 2019 FBI NICS figure 2.29 million reflects a 19.8 percent increase from the unadjusted FBI NICS figure of 1,91 million in June 2018.
In May, adjusted checks were up 0.7 percent, following a decline of 6.9 percent in April.
For the overall second quarter, adjusted checks were still down due to April’s softness by 1.2 percent to 2.83 million compared to the 2.86 million figure for second quarter 2018.
First quarter 2019 checks of 3.41 million showed a decrease of 8.5 percent.
