Donating shoes to Soles4Souls just became much easier, thanks to Finish Line's 'Sole Destination,' a large-scale shoe collection program. The promotion encourages shoppers to bring a pair of new or 'gently worn' shoes from their closets into a Finish Line store to receive a discount off a new pair.

From June 1 through September 7, 2009 all 690 Finish Line stores will be participating in 'Sole Destination'. Finish Line will donate $1 for each pair donated through the program – up to $100,000. Customers who donate shoes will receive $5 off a pair of shoes valued at $25 or higher.

“Finish Line is a remarkable partner in our mission to put shoes on the feet of people who need our help,” said Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls. “From the very beginning, Finish Line has rallied around our charity and their efforts are making an enormous impact in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. We are deeply honored to have their partnership,” he said.

“The Finish Line is proud to continue our support of Soles4Souls through Sole Destination — our exclusive shoe donation program,” said Derrick Walker, Finish Line Vice President of Marketing. “Thanks to the generosity of our customers, Finish Line was able to collect nearly 85,000 pairs of shoes last year. We hope to exceed that amount this year and make an impact in the lives of those in our community and around the world.”

Finish Line is also active in “Barefoot Week,” the annual celebration created by Soles4Souls to foster community philanthropy within the United States. This year, the athletic retailer is helping kick off Barefoot Week in Indianapolis by custom-fitting thousands of homeless and disadvantaged people served by Wheeler Mission.
