EyeBlack, the company that combines logos, phrases and bible verses with EyeBlack, announced Feb. 23 that Chicago Bears All-Pro Linebacker, Brian Urlacher, has joined their
team as a professional athlete ambassador. Urlacher will represent
EyeBlack's solid black Original product line, which will be sold in
special edition packaging that includes 18 pairs of product within a
reusable carrying case.

EyeBlack helps athletes by reducing glare and increasing visibility on the
field. As its name would suggest, the Original product is the first style
EyeBlack created when the company was incorporated in 2003. The product is
produced with latex free, medical grade tape that is tested and safe.
EyeBlack sold over 6 million pairs in 2011 and has proven its effectiveness
and durability among athletes and fans worldwide.

“I wanted to get involved with EyeBlack because I believe in their product
and trust its quality,” said Urlacher. “Not only does EyeBlack work on the
field, but applying it before games has become a ritual for me. After
putting it on I am ready to play. I also like the fact that EyeBlack makes
products that fans can wear too. It's a cool company.”

With this collaboration, Urlacher becomes the first professional athlete to
serve as an ambassador for the Original line of EyeBlack. To coincide with
the partnership EyeBlack has developed a unique and reusable package
designed specifically for athletes. Unlike similar products on the market,
the carrying cases are resealable and feature a photo of Urlacher on the
cover. The newly styled packaging is ideal for athletes that want to store
extra pairs of EyeBlack in their locker or equipment bag. Urlacher's
EyeBlack Original will be sold online at http://www.EyeBlack.com, and will
be available for purchase in various retail stores throughout the United
States this spring.

“Brian's iconic look wearing EyeBlack is completely in line with our brand
and this partnership is a perfect fit for us,” said Peter Beveridge, founder
and president of EyeBlack.com. “Brian embodies the EyeBlack Revolution to
the fullest and recognized that unlike other sporting goods manufacturers,
creating the best EyeBlack products is our main mission. We are excited that
he is on our team and that we will be selling the product he uses every
game.”

Urlacher was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round (9th overall)
of the 2000 NFL Draft and has spent his entire career with the team. He is
considered one of the NFL's fiercest linebackers and has recorded over 100
tackles in 10-of-12 seasons, including a career-high 214 in 2002. After
winning the NFL Rookie of the Year Award in 2000 and the NFL Defensive
Player of the Year Award in 2005, Urlacher became only the fifth player in
NFL history to earn both honors in their career. In 2009, he received the
ESPN All-Decade award and last season Urlacher was named to his eighth Pro
Bowl. A 5-Time All Pro Selection, Urlacher has registered over 1550 tackles,
the most ever in Bears history, and has established himself as one of the
league's most productive defensive players.
