Evoshield has agreed to an endorsement partnership with Robert Griffin III, the No. 2 overall selection in last month’s NFL draft. The former Baylor quarterback and 2011 Heisman Trophy winner, affectionately known as RG3, will promote the benefits of EvoShield’s products.

“It’s an honor to be the face of EvoShield protection for football,”
said Griffin, who’s been wearing EvoShield’s products since his freshman
year at Baylor.  “Spreading the news about a product that I truly
believe in – not just something that was thrown on me where they said,
‘Hey, wear this and say you like it.’  It’s something that I’ve gone
through trials and tribulations with and it’s protected me.  I know by
getting the word out to young kids, to those playing football, and to
those who have medical conditions and just need protection, that it’ll
have a positive impact on them, too.  That’s what I’m excited about –
just the fact that I can go out there and have my voice heard in a way
that can protect millions.”

Griffin was drafted by the NFL’s Washington Redskins in late April.

Griffin will promote products and technologies such as EvoShield’s unique “Gel-to-Shell” fitting process, which allows athletes to mold their own lightweight protective equipment for a custom fit to their body.  The Shields disperse energy better than traditional foam and plastic gear, allowing athletes to get the protection they need without sacrificing their performance.

Beginning in 2007 with University of Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford – a No. 1 NFL draft pick who continues to wear EvoShield as a professional – EvoShield has been providing to substantial group of football standouts, including Michael Vick, Kevin Kolb, Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas and Colt McCoy.

EvoShield’s features have attracted the attention not only of NCAA and NFL players, but also of trainers for college and professional teams alike.  “Our players hate to wear gear that is heavy or bulky because the game has gotten so competitive and every ounce of weight counts,” stated Dave Snyder, football athletic trainer at the University of Kansas.  “EvoShield gives these guys the ability to go out on the field and be protected, without feeling like it slows them down.  They are able to play with confidence, with less fear of injury.  In this way, EvoShield has turned what used to be viewed as a hindrance into an advantage.”

“EvoShield is en route to changing how football is played,” added John Baumgartner, the New Orleans Saints’ assistant equipment manager.  “Instead of worrying about their equipment, our players can focus more on playing.  EvoShield’s protective gear adapts to the athletes, instead of the athletes having to adjust their game to the gear.  The ability to customize the fit makes it better than equipment we’ve used in the past.”

More than 3.5 million children under age 14 receive medical treatment for sports-related trauma every year, according to Safe Kids USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating preventable childhood injuries – the leading cause of death and disability for youths ages 1 to 14.  Additionally, more than 30,000 high school athletes are treated for avoidable injuries each year.

“Our products are designed to protect athletes of all ages, and at all levels – not just professional or college athletes,” said Bob Pinckney, EvoShield CEO.  “Our passion is protection and we’re becoming the leading choice across many sports – football, baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer, hockey, to name a few.”

Robert Griffin III joins an EvoShield team that includes MLB players Troy Tulowitzki, Yadier Molina, Alex Gordon and Gordon Beckham, as well as NHL stars Shane Doan and Blake Geoffrion and lacrosse standout Ned Crotty.  EvoShield products are sold nationally in a variety of retail outlets, including Dick’s Sporting Goods and The Sports Authority, or online at www.evoshield.com.
