etnies Girl is proud to support the third annual SG Queen of the Mountain all-female pro/am snowboarding contest at Mountain High Resort on Saturday, March 12, 2005. The company has come together in support of the contest that benefits Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) through employee donations that company Owner and CEO Pierre Andre Senizergues will then match. The Company’s goal is to reach $5,000. etnies Girl has also created a special series of buttons for the contest meant to help raise awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer which will be given away at the etnies Girl booth.
etnies Girl will also offer chair massages at its booth for a suggested donation of $5. All funds raised through employee donations, company matching and chair massages will be presented to Boarding for Breast Cancer.
“etnies Girl is proud to support SG’s Queen of the Mountain,” says Senizergues. “Obviously, breast cancer is no laughing matter, but we think an event like SG’s Queen of the Mountain, which supports girls in action sports, encourages an active and healthy lifestyle and benefits an important cause like Boarding for Breast Cancer, is a great way to get young people involved and aware.”
SG’s Queen of the Mountain will take place on Saturday, March 12 at Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood, Calif. The event will feature elite professional female snowboarders from around the globe, including etnies Girl pro-rider Alexis Waite, competing in the $10,000 Pro Rail Jam contest. Amateurs will compete in a Jib Jam earlier in the day for $5,000 in product prizes and a chance for two wild cards spots into the pro event.
At the center of SG’s Queen of the Mountain is the “Ride for the Cure” pledge drive benefiting Boarding for Breast Cancer active from now until the contest to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. Op Girls Learn to Ride will be on-site providing snowboarding lessons and the Fender Stage will feature live entertainment.
