Emu Australia has announced the company will be taking over Canadian operations under the newly formed company, Emu Ridge Australia (Canada), Ltd. (ERAC). The globally
distributed brand, which currently has headquarters in Geelong, Australia and San Clemente, California has acquired the Canadian distribution business from Vancouver-based Interex Industries, Ltd. and will operate ERAC as a wholly owned subsidiary of Emu Ridge Australia Inc.
“As a privately owned operation, Emu has developed a successful, vertical business model that allows us to control every aspect of the business from sheep to the shelf, and we will mirror this model in the Canadian market,” said Greg Licht, president of Emu Ridge Australia, Inc. “Taking over Canadian operations will allow us to become closer to our dealer base, and improve sales and marketing.”
Led by footwear industry veteran Kuts Shoji, Interex Industries Ltd. has served as the exclusive distributor for Emu Ridge Australia since 1998. Shoji will continue his relationship with Emu Ridge Australia under a
consulting agreement.
ERAC will be managed by a Canadian Vice President of Sales and Marketing who will work directly in conjunction with the company's U.S. headquarters. Product will be distributed from the Canadian facility in Vancouver,
British Columbia.
