Eastern Mountain Sports teamed up with NuRide, a commuter rewards company, to reward individuals who undertake 'Commuter Consciousness' when they reduce emissions by carpooling, vanpooling, walking, biking, telecommuting and taking public transportation.

To participate in the program commuters sign up on the NuRide web site
and record their carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, telecommute and public
transportation trips. Individuals can then earn points for every trip
recorded on the NuRide web site, which can be redeemed for a variety of
rewards including discounts on purchases from Eastern Mountain Sports.

“Eastern Mountain Sports has long been committed to preserving and protecting the places where we love to play through our Future Consciousness campaign' said Scott Barrett, Eastern Mountain Sports chief marketing officer. “Commuter Consciousness enables us to take our conservation efforts a step further by encouraging commuters to change the way they get to work.”

“As a long-time New England resident I have been lucky enough to experience Eastern Mountain Sports' quality products and customer service first hand for years,” said Rick Steele, CEO of NuRide, “And now we are extremely excited to bring Eastern Mountain Sports directly to our members and provide them with terrific discounts for doing their part to reduce driving and greenhouse gas emissions.”
