Eastern Mountain Sports will host a grand opening of a larger store in Manchester, CT on April 27-29. Located next to PetSmart in the Plaza at Buckland Hills, the 18,831 square foot space is nearly three times the size of the former location in the same shopping complex.

“This move was made possible entirely by our loyal customers in Manchester and the surrounding areas,” said Will Manzer, CEO of Eastern Mountain Sports. “The people in this community have supported this location for over 15 years and we're thrilled to provide them with an upgraded shopping experience with more gear to choose from.” The new Manchester location will feature a new section for kids, an expanded kayak and stand up paddle board department, as well as a larger full-service bike shop. These improvements complement an extensive selection of outdoor apparel and gear for backpacking, camping, climbing and hiking.

A grand opening community celebration will take place April 27-29, with a portion of the weekend's proceeds donated to Connecticut Forest & Park Association. Since 1895, CFPA has been working to protect forests, parks, walking trails and open spaces for future generations by connecting people to the land; CFPA has been instrumental in the acquisition of more than 100 state parks and forests for public use and enjoyment.

Cycling is the signature sport of the Manchester store with an extensive selection of bikes for road cycling, mountain biking along with several hybrid styles. The selection of gear and apparel available at the new Manchester store includes Eastern Mountain Sports' proprietary products such as its outerwear layering system SYNC and Techwick®, its versatile, moisture management base layer. Like all other Eastern Mountain Sports stores, the new store will have experienced Foot Gurus, sales associates specially trained to analyze feet and to custom fit athletic footwear.
