Eddie Bauer has launched a gear rental program in partnership with Arrive Outdoors, camping gear and outdoor product rental business.
The rental service will give consumers access to products ranging from jackets to trunks to hiking boots and tents at a discounted rates. For example, an Eddie Bauer-branded down hoodie, which retails for $350, can be rented for $ 17.50 per day, while Eddie Bauer Hiking Boots at $180 can be rented for $9 a day.
Eddie Bauer’s move to offer a rental service follows other outdoor retailers in the space, such as REI and Patagonia, who have similar programs.
“Consumers increasingly demand convenience and simplicity across many facets of their lives, and the Eddie Bauer Gear Rental experience provides just that,” said Rachelle Snyder, chief executive officer and co-founder, Arrive Outdoors.
Arrive Outdoors also works with Columbia Sportswear, Oakley, Smartwool, and The North Face.
Eddie Bauer was recently acquired by Sparc Group, a partnership between Authentic Brands Group. The retailer also partnered with Kohl’s in February to sell a selection of gear at its department stores.
