Eddie Bauer expressed condolences for the death Monday of a woman killed by an avalanche during an expedition it is sponsoring in Argentina, Outside.com reported.

Rescue workers recovered the body of professional climber and snowboarder Liz Daley after her party was caught by an avalanche during an expedition on Cerro Vespignani, the magazine reported.

Daley, 29, was a resident of Tacoma, WA. Five other  members of the expedition, including two production crew members, survived the ordeal.

We are deeply saddened to report that yesterday, an avalanche in the Fitz Roy Massif region outside of El Chalten, Argentina, took the life of Liz Daley, a member of our Guide team.

Outside.com also reported that an unrelated avalanche killed professional freeskiers JP Auclair and Andreas Fransson in Chile on the same day.

The two were among a party of four hiking on the 11,800-foot San Lorenzo mountain, where Auclair and Fansson were working on a film project, according to the The Globe and Mail. The two who survived the avalanche after being dragged into Argentina help officials recover their bodies.

Auclair, 37, was raised in Quebec, while Fransson was a native of Sweden.
