GSI Commerce said that the 40-day period in which it could seek
third-party offers to eBay’s (EBAY) $2.4 billion bid has ended. GSI said
it did not receive any alternative proposals before the “go-shop”
period ended May 6.

The $2.4 billion acquisition was first announced in March.

GSI also said the Federal Trade Commission has granted early termination
of the mandatory waiting period for the deal under the Hart-Scott
Rodino Antitrust Improvement Act.

GSI said it and eBay expect to be able to close the deal as early as the end of the second quarter.
