Bicycle distributor Dynacraft BSC, Inc. has entered into an exclusive licensing partnership with Tony Hawk, who is perhaps best known as a pioneer in the skateboarding business. Hawk has exclusive footwear and apparel licensing deals with Kohls department stores and a helmet deal with Bell Sports.
Under terms of the new agreement, Dynacraft will develop several new lines of bicycles under the “Tony Hawk” brand, which will debut for Spring 2008 delivery. The Tony Hawk HuckJam Series will be created for Dynacraft's mass merchandise customers and The Tony Hawk Signature Series, which is being developed by Dynacraft's recently launched Specialty Retail Group, will be offered to sporting goods chains and other specialty retail customers.
Dynacraft currently distributes bikes under the Barbie, Dekra, Hot Wheels, Magna, Malibu, Next and Rhino brand names.
The deal was brokered by IP Chemistry, a division of the Dimensional Branding Group.
In other Dynacraft news, the distributor announced that it has joined Bikes Belong, the “national coalition of more than 350 bicycle suppliers and retailers working together to put more people on bicycles more often.”
