Dunham announces three new additions to the outdoor performance footwear brand including, Heather Kananowicz as Womens Casual Product Manager, Silas Beebe as Product Designer II and Scott Spearman as Product Developer. All three associates will be based in Boston.
Heather Kananowicz, Womens Casual Product Manager.
Kananowicz comes to the company with eight years of experience in the athletic business. As Womens Casual Product Manager, Kananowicz will manage, grow and rejuvenate the Dunham line of womens outdoor casuals by venturing into more contemporary styling in the outdoor lifestyle area while continuing to evolve the core of the business in everyday casuals. Previously, she was brand manager for three of Timex Corporations global brands: Marathon, 1440 Sports, and Ironman Triathlon, which was the number one selling sport watch in the world. While at Timex, she was responsible for bringing these brands to market through marketing, merchandising, and full line development from conceptual ideas to mass production. Kananowicz began her career in the athletic industry as Footwear Development Coordinator for Reebok International and rose in that company to Materials and Trends Manager. Kananowicz graduated from Merrimack College, has run several marathons and finished the Hawaii Ironman World Championship in 2002.
Silas Beebe, Product Designer II.
Beebes product design-based focus will interpret the latest fashion and consumer trend influences using innovative materials and constructions. Formerly, Beebe worked in California on footwear with Lifestyledesign and accessories with Adidas, among many other projects as a freelance designer. Prior to that he was designing products such as gloves and hand tools at one of Scandinavias largest and most successful design consultancies, Ergonomidesign, which is based in Stockholm. Beebe has extensive experience in product design and design research, and has contributed to such leading design studios as Ziba Design, Herbst LaZar Bell, Herman Miller, Johnson Controls and SuperHappyBunny. Beebe graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts with a B.A. in Fine Arts and Art History, and after a few years working in design research, went back to school to earn a B.S. in Product Design from the Art Center College of Design.
Scott Spearman, Product Developer.
As Product Developer, Spearman will be responsible for developing high quality womens product utilizing the brands new performance and fit technologies in womens casuals. Spearman comes to Dunham with 15 years of product development experience and most recently from Nike, where he held the position of Pricing Manager for the brands soccer and tennis categories. While at Nike, he assisted product development in utilizing cost effective materials and technologies. Spearman began product development as Sr. NPD Cost Engineer for The First Years, developing new products and researching technologies based on competitive market trends. Spearman has a Bachelor of Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.
