Duluth Holdings, Inc. announced that as part of its expense savings initiative to rightsize the business, it reduced its workforce by 51 employees, or 3 percent of its total workforce, on June 4.

Duluth said the expenses related to the workforce reduction were less than $1 million.

In its brief statement, Duluth said the company’s “expense savings actions would reduce complexity in the business and increase the company’s focus on brand awareness, solution-based product and product innovations, and exceptional customer service.”

As reported by SGB Media on June 5, Duluth, in announcing first-quarter results last week, said the company introduced an expense reduction program to drive annualized savings of approximately $15 million, of which at least $10 million of cost benefits it will realize in the current fiscal year.
