Duckworth, a Montana-based wool apparel company, has engaged San Francisco-based designer Amy Williams to be its product design director.

“At Duckworth we’re passionate about functional design and locally grown, high quality materials,” Duckworth President Robert Bernthal said. “We’re excited to partner with Amy, who shares our enthusiasm for building things in the USA, changing the way consumers think about wool and how they use it in their daily lives. Amy brings a high level of expertise in the world of fashion to Duckworth.”

Duckworth currently produces eight proprietary fabrics created from merino wool grown on the Helle Ranch in Dillon, MT and other Montana ranches that grow certified Rambouillet merino wool. In her role with Duckworth, Williams will design new apparel styles that showcase Duckworth’s fabrics.

“I’m driven by creating beautiful products made from the world’s finest materials and I’m honored to be able to develop a style-driven collection using a limited and premium fiber, grown entirely in the U.S.,” Williams said.

Williams received her bachelor of fine arts degree from New York’s Parsons School of Design/The New School of Social Research in Fashion. Her designs have sold at Fred Segal, Scoop, Big Drop, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom’s and Barney’s.
