DSW Inc. announced the launch of DSW Kids in over 200 stores and 40 states across the country. The retail expansion will include footwear for kids of all ages, from infants and toddlers through teens. An extension of its successful e-commerce shop, DSW Kids is now open in over 200 brick and mortar locations. Twenty-one new stores opening this fall will also offer DSW Kids.

Debbie Ferrée, vice chairman and CMO, comments, “Consumers have been asking for kid’s shoes in our stores for years and we answered with DSW Kids.  We are launching with a full range of footwear starting with infant sizes. Now, the entire family can meet their footwear needs at DSW!”  She continues, “With so many of our vendors offering children’s footwear, the expansion was comprehensive and seamless – we offer on average over 210 styles per store and over 2,000 styles online and with our Buy Online Ship to Store capability the in-store options seem endless.”

The expansion launches with its own brand DNA, which marries the parent logo with the word KIDS and a punch of orange.  These unique in-store sections encourage child-interaction with instructive shoe sizing islands, complete with fun height measuring flag poles.  Wider, stroller-friendly aisles have been designed to make shopping comfortable for parents and children.

Reflecting the retailer’s commitment to offering a broad range of footwear, merchandise will include over 100 brands for boys and girls across all footwear categories, from fashion and athletic to functional.  Additionally, DSW Kids will exclusively offer fashion footwear at accessible prices with the company’s in-house designed brands Olive & Edie for girls and  Max + Jake for boys, this coming spring.

Kids-Directed Giving

DSW is mindful that all kids need shoes. In collaboration with Soles4Souls, a non-profit enterprise committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing, DSW Kids stores will offer convenient drop boxes where customers can donate new and gently used kid’s shoes through the Soles4Souls organization.

DSW’s Shoe Lovers Care Program also donated a total of $110,000 in grants to eight non-profit organizations to bring joy, play, music and adventure into the lives of children in need. For more information, please visit http://www.shoeloverscare.com.
