DSW Inc. announced the opening of its newest store on 34th Street in Manhattan. The store is located in the heart of New York's fashion district. DSW also announced plans to open a store on the Upper West Side at 79th and Broadway in early summer 2012.
“We are thrilled to announce the opening of two new stores in New York City,” stated Mike MacDonald, President and Chief Executive Officer, DSW Inc. “When combined with our existing Manhattan store at Union Square on 14th Street, these stores will allow DSW to cover a much larger geography and to serve many more New Yorkers.”
At over 33,000 square feet, the 34th Street store is the one of the largest in the DSW chain. It boasts three floors of selling space, housing thousands of pairs of men's and women's shoes as well as accessories. Many footwear styles are exclusive for Manhattan shoe lovers. The DSW store at 79th and Broadway will also be very large, measuring over 32,000 square feet.
As of March 8, DSW operated 327 stores in 40 states and operated an e-commerce site, http://www.dsw.com, and a mobile website, http://m.dsw.com.
