Ski designer DPS hired two new employees to support continued worldwide growth and unveiled a new initiative dubbed Ecosystem – a program designed to provide a deliberate link between the brand’s marketing efforts and specialty retailers.
Alex Hunt (pictured above) joins DPS as public relations manager, while Matthew Murphy becomes East Coast lead sales representative.
“As another strong year comes to a close and we look forward to continued growth in 2017; our goal to stay ahead of the curve in everything we do stays firmly intact,” said Stephan Drake, founder and CEO, DPS Skis. “With the hiring of an in-house public relations specialist and a new sales rep dedicated to the New England and Mid-Atlantic markets, we have added key personnel to the DPS crew. In addition to these hires, the new Ecosystem program we are unveiling will close the gap between our on-mountain ambassadors and retail partners.”
Public Relations Manager Alex Hunt joins DPS from Verde Brand Communications, an agency that specializes in the snow sports, bike and outdoor markets. Previous to his time at Verde, Hunt served in a variety of on- and off-mountain roles during his 10-plus years at Silverton Mountain Ski Area.
Matthew Murphy, who was hired in August 2016 to lead sales efforts for the New England region, has recently expanded his territory to include the Mid-Atlantic states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Murphy brings a well-respected skillset to dealers as a longtime sales rep, FIS racer and ski academy coach.
In addition to these hires, the Salt Lake City-based ski brand selected longtime Sales Manager Mike Cannon to head up its Ecosystem initiative.
