Sports, Inc., the national member-owned sporting goods buying group, announced DNW Outdoors as its 2014 Outdoor Member of the Year.
DNW Outdoors, located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, is owned by Dennis and Kay Noell and has been a member of Sports, Inc. since 2003. The hunting, fishing and outdoor outfitter was chosen for its excellent representation as a Sports, Inc. member.
DNW Outdoors was started in 1987 in the automotive supply industry and the outdoor store was added in 2002. After joining Sports, Inc., DNW Outdoors' retail store grew from 2,000 square feet to 12,000 square feet in five years. Today the business is 31,000 square feet, and Dennis attributes much of the growth to being a member of Sports, Inc.
According to Dennis, “I am very proud to be a member of Sports, Inc. When I first started in the sporting goods business I was a little fish in a big pond. I had manufacturers who wouldn't sell to me, sales reps who wouldn't call on me, and I battled with large minimums. But since joining Sports Inc., my earlier struggles have been greatly relieved, and my business has grown rapidly. Sports, Inc. enjoys a well-deserved reputation for innovation and service.
