Dillard’s, Inc. reported that merchandise sales for the five weeks ended Jan. 1, 2011 were $1.07 billion compared to sales for the five weeks ended Jan. 2, 2010 of $1.01 billion. Total sales increased 6%.


Sales in comparable stores increased 7% for the five weeks ended Jan. 1, 2011.

Sales for the 48 weeks ended Jan. 1, 2011 were $5.64 billion compared to sales for the 48 weeks ended Jan. 2, 2010 of $5.54 billion. Total sales increased 2%. Sales in comparable stores increased 3% for the 48-week period.


During the five weeks ended Jan. 1, 2011, sales were above the average total Company trend in the Eastern region, in line with trend in the Central region and significantly below trend in the Western region. Sales of shoes were significantly above trend during the five-week period while sales in the cosmetics category were significantly below trend.
