The Pittsburgh Business Times is reporting that Dick’s Sporting Goods is testing a new golf specialty store format near its headquarters in Pittsburgh, Penn. The Times cited sources from the planning office in suburban Robinson Township where Dick’s had tested its first two-story format a few years ago. Robinson Town Centre is now also home to a Golf Galaxy superstore that opened less than a month ago.

PBT reported that city officials was expected DKS to file for the approval of a new sign for the store and open within 30 days.

There was no statement from Dick’s Sporting Goods management in the piece published on Monday.
