Dick's Sporting Goods was sued by Performance Solutions LLC for allegedly infringing on a patent for an exercise device. According to a report in the Boston Business Journal, the Natick, MA company claims in the suit that Dicks' SG infringed on a patent for a Performance product called the “Theraroll.”
“(Performance) approached Dick's offering Dicks' an opportunity to sell the Theraroll, and Dick's declined,” the suit states. “Thereafter, Dick's manufactured, or had manufactured, used, offered for sale and/or sold one or more products which infringe on the (Theraroll) patent. An example is Dick's 'Thrive Textured Flexibility Roller.' “
The suit seeks monetary damages.
Dick's did not comment to the newspaper on the suit.
