Dick's Sporting Goods is in the process of soliciting creative advertising agencies, according to a report in Advertising Age. The report said the sporting goods chain has traditionally relied on a team of in-house creatives and partnered with production companies.

The move follows the hiring earlier this year of Lauren Hobart, a 14-year veteran of PepsiCo, as chief marketing officer.

Final presentations are expected to take place before the end of the month. Dick's SG declined to comment.
