Deuter USA has undertaken a consolidation of their sales efforts and expansion of their customer service function. Effective immediately, Keith Paterson the current national director of Outdoor sales will also direct the responsibilities of taking responsibility for, both the Bike and Outdoor. We will continue to maintain separate rep. forces for the Bike and Outdoor markets, as this has proven to be the best way to deal with the differing markets.

“For the past two and a half years our focus has been establishing a specialty outdoor and bike retail base. As of the end of August, Deuter USA has established over 200 specialty retail customers and over 180 independent bike retail customers. We are expecting this to grow by 35-40% in 2004. With this in mind, we have decided to consolidate our overall sales responsibilities with our National Sales Manager, Keith Paterson, with assistance from myself (Loomis) and hire a new Customer Service Manager, John Herron, explains Pat Loomis, US
Division President.

“Deuter USA has built a reputation for excellent on time deliveries and response to retail customer needs which we want to maintain as we grow,” adds Loomis. Deuter will also be adding warehouse and administrative personnel this fall.

The new Customer Service Manager, John Herron, has extensive customer service experience starting with retail sales at Galyan¹s and as Key Account Sales Coordinator and Corporate Sales Rep at Lowe Alpine Systems. We are pleased to have found John available and a part of our team.

The position of Bike Sales Manager at Deuter has been eliminated, Neil Segal has moved on to explore other opportunities. We thank him for his time with us and wish him the best in all his future endeavors.

In addition to new staff, Deuter USA recently moved to a new office/warehouse space of over 3,000 sq. ft. which they hope will be adequate for next two years. It is located at 1341 Sherman Drive, Unit D, Longmont, CO 80501. This larger space is both in the vicinity of many of the core outdoor brands in Boulder County and lends to greater overall productivity. While some companies are downsizing Deuter USA continues to grow with exciting pack offerings, competitive price points, and great margins for their retail customers.
