Japanese sports and outdoor brand Descente signed a three-year deal with the Honolulu Marathon beginning in 2017.
As official apparel sponsor, Descente will provide technical sports shirts to all finishers and volunteers in addition to being the sole apparel retailer at the Honolulu Marathon Expo.
Founded in Osaka, Japan in 1935, the Descente brand produces premium, functional sportswear products for skiing, fitness training, baseball and more.
In 2013 Descente entered the sport of triathlon, and has since developed innovative clothing to support athletes during the three disciplines of swimming, cycling and running.

We are delighted to be able to add our name to the sponsors of this event. We look forward to offering our latest clothing to the staff and to showcasing our garment technology to the participants and spectators.”
The Honolulu Marathon, held annually on the second Sunday in December is the fourth largest marathon in the United States. Around 40 percent of participants come from Japan. In 2017, the Honolulu Marathon celebrates its 45th anniversary on December 10.
