Denver Mayor, Michael B. Hancock, and local officials will join SnowSports Industries America (SIA) board members and thousands of industry members at the 2014 SIA Snow Show (Jan. 30-Feb. 2) Opening Ceremony to celebrate the upcoming Olympic Winter Games and kick off the Show in the Colorado Convention Center’s Atrium Lobby at 8:30AM on Thursday, Jan. 30.

With just eight days until the Winter Games begin in Sochi, the Snow Show Opening Ceremony will include an unveiling of official team uniforms. Doug Lewis, 1984 & 1988 Olympian and Alpine Analyst for Universal Sports, will act as the master of ceremonies for the morning event.

“It was 30 years ago when I represented the U.S. in Sarajevo at the 1984 Olympics and I remember it vividly, as it was a dream come true for me,” said Lewis. “My roommate, Bill Johnson, won the Gold in the Downhill and inspired me to win my medal at the Worlds a year later. As an athlete competing across the globe, you know you are part of a bigger family that includes the USST and SIA. I still have my Olympic uniforms and can't wait to see this year's Medal Uniforms, which I expect to see on every podium,” commented Doug Lewis, Universal Sports.
To cap off the Opening Ceremony, Denver and SIA officials will ring cowbells to signify the official start of the 2014 SIA Snow Show.

“There’s always an added level of excitement at the Show during Winter Olympic years – there will be a lot of buzz in the aisles about new events, athletes to watch and what technology they’ll be using,” said David Ingemie, SIA president. “We wanted to capture and celebrate that energy to kick off this year’s Snow Show.”
