Jim Van Dine, former president of Keen Footwear, and Van Dine and Partners have been contracted to collaborate with Deckers Outdoor Corp. management on a variety of projects, from strategic planning and brand development, to operational effectiveness. Van Dine and Angel Martinez, president and CEO of Deckers, go back more than 25 years when they worked in a running store together. They connected again at Reebok and later launched the Keen Footwear project together in spring 2003.

“Jim Van Dine and his team are an accomplished group with proven success in our industry,” said Martinez. “I have worked with them in the past and know first hand that they have considerable knowledge and experience that can add great value for Deckers as we work to maximize the opportunities inherent in our three brands, Teva, Ugg, and Simple.”

Martinez left Keen in March last year to become CEO of Deckers. Van Dine opted to leave the company earlier this year when ownership made the decision to move the entire business to Portland, Ore. Van Dine’s team is comprised of former Keen management and staff displaced by the move.
