Big crowds of shoppers are expected at selected Decathlon Sports stores beginning Wednesday, October 8, as consumers take advantage of store closing sales in several locations in New England. As announced earlier, Decathlon Stores is closing the stores as part of a restructuring. The closing stores are in Medford, Danvers, Chelmsford, Braintree, Brockton, Newton, Natick and North Attleboro, MA as well as four in New Hampshire and one in Maine.

The closing stores will offer storewide discounts off the lowest ticketed prices in all product categories — including all outdoor sports, team sports, apparel, footwear and equipment.

“These closing sales are happening just as families are shopping for fall and winter sports,” said Gary Kulp, Principal of Boston-based Gordon Brothers Group, the retail consulting firm engaged by Decathlon to manage the sales. “Since all of the popular brands customers shop these stores for will be featured — we know the stores will sell out very quickly.”
