DAC, a leader in the engineering and production of high performance aluminum tent poles based in Incheon, Korea, announced it will be expanding its sales, product development and marketing operations in North America.
“For many years we have been managing the business from our headquarters in Korea while increasing our capabilities in overall design and architecture,” said Jake Lah, president of DAC. “Establishing better global access to these resources will allow us to provide our brand partners with greater opportunities for innovation and lower overall development costs.”
The company has hired two industry veterans to lead the effort, Michael Glavin and Paul Svrcek. Both men have significant tent-specific experience with several leading brands, including MOSS, Walrus, MSR and Sierra Designs. They will be working to build the overall strategy for the region and work closely to optimize support for existing and new brand partners. In addition, DAC has brought on Tom Mendl, another industry vet to help develop and implement marketing programs.
“This is a big year for us,” continued Lah. “DAC is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2018 and we believe it is a critical time to step up and really support the tent market on many fronts. We want to help drive innovation for our customers, provide retailers with the information they need and give consumers a better understanding of the products they are buying.”
