Walrus, a new advertising agency headed by Deacon Webster, opened its doors in mid-June with Wacoal Sports Science Corp.’s CW-X Performance Conditioning Wear as one its founding clients.

“When Mad Dogs decided to close its doors, a core group of great accounts still remained,” Webster explained. “I approached these clients about continuing on with much the same group they’ve been working with and they responded enthusiastically.”

John L.A. Wilson, executive vice president, at Wacoal Sports Science Corp. noted, “Deacon and his team helped us launch the CW-X brand in the U.S. three years ago. It’s been a huge success and I look forward to continuing our relationship, taking the CW-X business to the next level in the athletic outdoor performance market.”

Reflecting on the CW-X brand and advertising campaign, Webster said, “CW-X is redefining the sports apparel market. Their running and wintersports tights and tops and their new women’s bra are more like equipment than apparel. From an advertising perspective, it has been an interesting challenge to determine how to illustrate the brand’s technical benefits while still keeping that crucial element of emotion in the work. We are thrilled and very appreciative of John’s commitment to Walrus and are working hard to maintain CW-X’s continued success.”
