Brazilian soccer star Rafael Alcântara do Nascimento of FC Barcelona, known as Rafinha, has formalized an official sponsorship with global performance insole company Currex.

Currex, a leading German biomechanical company of distinguished sports scientists and engineers, developed the Cleatpro lightweight insole specifically for soccer boots, which is what Rafinha wears in his cleats. Rafinha began his soccer career in 2006 by training at one of the most famous soccer clubs in Barcelona.

Throughout his career, Rafinha has played on multiple teams including Barcelona B, Barcelona, Celta and Internazionale. In January of 2018, Internazionale Milan announced the acquisition of Rafinha on a loan from Barcelona. The 25-year-old midfielder was also a member of the 2016 Brazilian Olympic soccer team and aspires to represent Brazil in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Currex defines its insoles as, “the perfect symbiosis between science and passion.”

The insoles are considered to be “small technological powers under the feet” that are designed to maximize sports performance. Many of world’s best soccer players from leagues in Germany, England, Spain, USA and Canada already wear the Cleatpro insole.

“I was initially surprised when I first tried the Cleatpro insoles,” said Rafinha. “Currex insoles are so much better than very expensive custom insoles. Other insoles are very rigid or take too much space but Currex are dynamic and the shape molds perfectly to the foot. The semi-custom fit truly feels custom and Currex is so reasonably priced that everyone should consider having them in their soccer boots.”

“We are proud to partner with such a prominent and well-respected soccer player,” said Lutz Klein, CEO and president of Currex of the Americas. “Rafinha understands the value of Currex, our development of the First Dynamic Insoles and how our technology can improve his performance, which is key for any professional athlete.”

Currex Cleatpro soccer-specific insoles are already widely distributed in most American and Canadian soccer retail stores and online.

Currex is a world-leading biomechanics lab that provides shoe finding solutions to companies like Mizuno, New Balance, Asics, Ecco and Lowa, among others.
