Snowshoe maker Crescent Moon Snowshoes has been acquired by family-owned Dunn-Rite Products. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
As part of the deal, Crescent Moon will transition production from Colorado to Dunn-Rite’s home in Elwood, IN.
A third-generation, family-owned business specializing in summer water-recreation products, Dunn-Rite is expanding their manufacturing facilities into cold-weather water-based fun. Established in 1983, Dunn-Rite has a long history of developing innovative products of the highest quality and will continue to apply these values and principles to every Crescent Moon snowshoe made.
Crescent Moon co-founder Jake Thamm, shown lead photo, will remain to support the company and its products, during and after the transition of ownership, to ensure there is no disruption in business operations.
“We are thrilled to have acquired such an incredible brand,” said Tanner Dunn, vice president of Crescent Moon Snowshoes. “Crescent Moon has developed unique offerings and established a highly respected legacy. We see huge growth potential in the running categories, with the Luna foam snowshoe and are eager to invest and support the opportunities available to Crescent Moon, while driving new momentum for an inventive, industry-leading brand.”
“Change is necessary for growth, but finding the right fit isn’t always easy,” said Thamm. “I’m confident we’ve found the right team with Dunn-Rite and know they will continue the legacy that Crescent Moon has built. I’m looking forward to Crescent Moon’s bolstered capabilities by this new investment in product development and distribution. It’s an exciting time for the company and for the snowshoe industry.”
