Crecera Brands, parent of the Sportsman’s Guide, The Golf Warehouse, and Baseball Savings.com retail brands, has appointed Chip Coe as chief executive officer, effective immediately.

The company said the leadership change is part of Crecera’s “strategic pivot to optimize opportunities and help to navigate current sector headwinds, coming two years into a successful turnaround and growth strategy.”

“I am honored to join Crecera Brands and lead this exceptional team,” said Coe. “Our focus on high-quality customer service, solution-based assortments and industry expertise will continue to drive our success. I look forward to building on our strong foundation and pursuing new growth opportunities.”

The company said Coe is an experienced consumer products executive known for his expertise in building industry-leading teams and brands and delivering operating results.

“With a rich background in the outdoor, snow sports and work marketplaces, Coe brings a wealth of knowledge in portfolio strategy, acquisition and investment analysis and execution,” the company said in a media release.

Coe was, most recently, chief corporate development and sales officer at Natural Fiber Welding. Before that, he worked for Wolverine Worldwide, most recently as SVP of acquisitions and investments, following global president positions at the company’s CAT Footwear and Chaco Footwear brands and other leadership roles over a nearly 13-year period. Coe was CEO of Teko after leading Smartwool as president and CEO for seven years.

Coe succeeds Corey Bergstrom, who launched Crecera’s strategic transformation, a path the company continues to pursue.
