At the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, Finland, Karhu running shoes were on the feet of many top competitors. In honor of the brands glorious past, just prior to the recently completed World Track and Field Championship in Helsinki, Karhu announced an innovative new running shoe line called Mseries.

Called the next generation of high performance running shoes, Mseries is the result of a long association between Karhu and the Biomechanical Laboratory at Finland's Jyväskylä University. In 1999, The collaboration produced the innovative FulcruM rolling motion shoe design. FulcruM shoes were so successful that the term “rolling effect” came into common usage by all high-end running shoe makers.

The most recent Karhu-Jyväskylä collaborative product development is a unique outsole element called Anatomic Controlling System (ACS). ACS promotes and supports an efficient stride so much so that tests have shown Karhu Mseries shoes with ACS offer 34 percent more shock absorbency at the heel than the competition's shoes. The research further proved that Mseries shoes are the fastest rolling from heel strike into the exertion phase of the stride.

Because of these significant overall advantages during stride, an average runner wearing Mseries shoes can lower his or her heart-rate by as much as 5 beats and consume 5 percent less oxygen than when wearing the other shoes used in the tests.

The Mseries line includes training for both men and women which will be available this fall in Europe and starting in Spring 2006 in the U.S. and Canada where the line will be distributed by The Europa Company LLC, distributors for Craft performance apparel in N.America.
